Okay, so bear with a little background, have been working for a while on getting a good Kingfisher down here in France, have put in a lot of hours. Find the right place, the right time, the right warm light, well you all know. Sat down with my hide in a mud puddle down by the Dordogne river around 4pm, knowing I would get a perfect light around 7pm. Well, mosquitoes, snakes, muskrats and other things put me down a bit, but like all of us, I'm pretty resilient. As the clock approached 7pm, I didn't have a glimpse of any Kingfishers and started to get really tired, the mosquitoes started to take their toll (did I say it was around 35 degrees in the hide, didn't I) and I thought of giving up, and a good dinner was waiting at home! THEN! it was quite unexpectedly three meters from me, in perfectly warm low sunshine. THANKS! Here is an image almost directly from the memory card, with some Topaz and 150-400mm of course 1/1250 ISO 3200 f/5.6. To all my friends here in the group: NEVER GIVE UP!!!
